Account information: Email address, username, display name, and avatar photo when you create an account.
Phone number: Collected during phone verification to enable social features. Verified via Twilio. We store the verified number on your profile.
Session data: Poker session details you choose to record — game type, stakes, buy-ins, duration, profit/loss, venue, and notes. This data is stored in our database and is only accessible to you unless you choose to share it.
Hand histories: Voice or text descriptions of poker hands that you submit for AI parsing. These are processed by our AI service (Anthropic Claude) and stored as structured data.
Table strategy descriptions: When you describe opponents for strategic analysis, your descriptions are sent to our AI service for processing. Opponent descriptions are not stored — analysis results are ephemeral and displayed only during your active session.
Photos: Session photos you upload are stored in secure cloud storage and only accessible to you and users you share them with.
Direct messages: Private messages you send to other users are stored in our database. Messages are accessible only to the sender and recipient. You can delete individual messages (unsend). All messages are permanently deleted when either party deletes their account.
Local device storage: Active session data (timer, buy-ins, stack) is stored locally on your device using MMKV, a high-performance storage library. This data persists on your device until the session ends and is synced to our servers, or until the app is uninstalled.
Usage data: We collect anonymous analytics (screen views, feature usage) via PostHog to improve the app. We use Sentry for crash reporting. No financial amounts are ever sent to analytics services.

We retain your data as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete all associated data including session records, photos, messages, and profile information. This deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
ChipTrove is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
ChipTrove processes poker session data including buy-in amounts, cash-out amounts, and profit/loss calculations. This data is:
When you use hand history capture, table strategy analysis, or CSV import, your text descriptions are sent to Anthropic's Claude API for processing. Anthropic's data retention policy applies to this processing. We do not send financial amounts, personal identifiers, or location data to the AI service — only the hand description text, opponent tendency descriptions, or CSV content you provide.
We will only disclose your data to law enforcement when required by valid legal process (court order, subpoena, or warrant). We will notify you of such requests unless legally prohibited from doing so.
California residents have the right to: know what personal data we collect, request deletion of their data, and opt out of data sales (we do not sell data). To exercise these rights, contact us or use the account deletion feature in the app.
We may update this policy. Material changes will be communicated via the app. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
